Cheese-less Cheez

Can't tolerate dairy? Looking to cut down on your saturated fat intake? Just watched What the Health and you're now terrified of almost all food groups? [check out this myth busting article if you're in this boat]. Regardless, this Cheese-less Cheez* recipe is for you. Use it any way you would use parmesan - pizza, pasta or even in my Basil Spinach Pesto recipe. Just 6 ingredients, including nutritional yeast which is a great source of B12 for all of you who do avoid animal products regularly.

Cheese-less cheese

INGREDIENTS

  • 3/4 cup cashews [preferably raw + unsalted] 

  • 2 tbsp. pine nuts

  • 1 tbsp. hemp seeds

  • 1/2 cup nutritional yeast

  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder

  • 1/4 tsp. salt

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Place all ingredients in a food processor and blend until well combined.

  2. Use as you would parmesan cheese - sprinkle on pastas, pizzas, salads, etc.
