Mango Banana Smoothie
Several optional “superfoods" in this Mango Banana Smoothie boost it’s nutritional value including added fiber, omega 3 fatty acids, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. A few tidbits about some of these optional add-ins:
>>Collagen: anti-aging benefits to improve the strength of bones + joints + hair + skin + nails + gut
>>Ground flaxseeds + chia seeds: rich in omega 3 fatty acids + fiber + magnesium
>>Maca powder: energy/stamina booster + hormone regulator + it gives off a nutty flavor!
>>Turmeric: rich in manganese plus anti-inflammatory + antioxidant properties from the compound curcumin
>>Cacao nibs: antioxidant rich + high in magnesium for better sleep + improved energy + focus
mango banana smoothie*
INGREDIENTS
3/4-1 cup milk of choice [I used unsweetened almond]
1/2 frozen banana
3/4 cup frozen mango
1 tbsp. peanut/almond butter
Optional: 1 scoop Collagen, 1 tbsp. chia seeds, 1 tbsp. ground flaxseed, 1/2 tsp. maca powder, Dash of cinnamon, ginger, turmeric and/or 1-2 tbsp. cacao nibs to top
INSTRUCTIONS
Add milk (more for a smoothie, less for a smoothie bowl), frozen fruit to a high speed blender and blend until combined. Add remaining ingredients, aside from cacao nibs, and blend until smooth. Top with cacao nibs and enjoy!
*you could also make this a green smoothie by adding a large handful of spinach!
